It seems very cliche, but for the New Year, my main goal is to become a healthier, better version of myself. Although I have a similar resolution every year, this year I am taking immediate steps to make it happen! I am going to breakdown the ways I am going to implement changes starting today.
- Eat Healthier
- I am notorious for “starting my diet on Monday.” I have learned that a specific diet is not a realistic long-term goal for me. I need to just eat “healthier” in general, without restricted certain food groups. Healthy portions and self control are things I am trying to learn. As I have gotten older, my metabolism has definitely changed. I can no longer eat fried chicken and Oreos all day. I will soon be partnering up with a local “clean eating” restaurant, and I cannot wait to give y’all the details. Along with eating a healthier diet, I want to consume lots of water. I am usually pretty good about this, but I want to continue into the New Year.
- Exercise
- My goal is to exercise at least 30 mins a day, 5 days a week. There is NO excuse why I have not been exercising while being at home with my babies. Yes, they require a lot of attention, but I could be doing exercises in the morning, during naps, or at night. I have been so lazy after the birth of my second child, and my body is starting to show it.
- I ordered the Flywheel Bike so that I can do at-home spin classes whenever I have free time. My plan is to wake up 45 mins earlier, and do the spin classes every morning. I used to love spin and cardio in general, so hopefully I can get right back in the swing of things. This bike was an investment, but It has amazing reviews and comes with a 15.6″ tablet for live classes. I will report back on this bike once it arrives.
- Less Medication and More Holistic Alternatives
- I have always been one of those people that relies on quick fixes from medication. If I have a headache, pass the Advil, when I have heartburn, pass the tums, if I can’t sleep, ill take some z-quil. I am a nurse, and realize sometimes medication is necessary, but not always. I would like to try more holistic alternatives for treatment.
- ESSENTIAL OILS- last year I purchased the young living essential oil starter kit. I loved getting to know the different oils, blends, and how to use them. The diffuser function alone made my house smell amazing, and I swear that alone helped with some of my anxiety. If this is something you are interested in, I have a good friend, Brittany , that is very knowledgable in this area.
- ONLY HEALING MINERALS – OHM are healing mineral crystal powders for baths, mists, and topical uses. I have just recently learned about this approach, and it is SO neat! Remineralization is the process of restoring your body back to its balanced state by replacing missing minerals. Lack of minerals can lead to ailments, loss of energy, and more. Not all minerals we need are found in the foods we eat. These custom formulas are handcrafted to replenish our body of the minerals we need, bringing our bodies back to a balanced state of being. Here are the ones I have been using so far:
- Madness – I use this topically for anxiety…what mom doesn’t need this! They also have the madness for K9s.
- Saratogan– I use this mineral powder in the bath. You can also mix it in a spray bottle if you are busy and don’t have time to soak.
- Wellness – I use this mineral powder in the bath. This is great for when you are recovering from an illness or to help induce a good nights sleep.

- Get More Sleep
- My goal is to be in bed with NO electronics by 9:30 pm. In order to get up and exercise early in the morning, I will need to go to bed at a decent time. Sleep is so important, and I think this would help with my health as well as my anxiety.
And these are my New Year’s Resolutions!! I hope that by sharing them with you guys, I will hold myself accountable throughout the year. I am excited to continue this path to a healthier lifestyle. If you have any questions about products I mentioned above, feel free to ask!!
XOXO,
Claire
