In Cooking with the Jones’s Part 1, I introduced you to HelloFresh and why we love it so much. In this post, I am going to walk you through the steps of preparing your HelloFresh meal.
The first step is opening the box and taking out all of the meal bags. All of the ingredients for each meal are separated into brown paper bags. The meats are packaged in the bottom of the box under ice. Inside of the bags are fresh, proportioned ingredients. I always love how fresh the produce, herbs, and meats are!
Next, you get a cute little helper to assist you in reading the instructions. Alex volunteered to cook this meal, so Charlie and I helped read the step by step instructions. HelloFresh gives the best, detailed instructions, ensuring that every meal is cooked perfectly!
We create fun games while dad cooks. This meal had miniature potatoes, so Charlie helped me count them all while Alex cut up the Brussel sprouts and potatoes.
Now that all of the food is prepped, it is time to start cooking! The instructions make it easy to multitask: cooking the Brussel sprouts in the oven, boiling potatoes on the stovetop, and cooking beef tenderloin on the stove top. I am normally not good at multi-tasking, but they make it so easy! HelloFresh is like having an at home date night, where Alex and I can have fun cooking together in the kitchen (with the kids of course, haha)!
VOILA! A delicious steak dinner: Beef tenderloin with Demi-glaze, Mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. As always, this HelloFresh meal was so flavorful and delicious. The rosemary Demi-glaze complimented the steak perfectly. I have recently come to love Brussels sprouts, and these were SO yummy! The garlic mashed potatoes were obviously a huge hit with both the adults AND the toddlers. This meal was perfect for the family, and we look forward to receiving our next box of HelloFresh!
I hope you enjoyed cooking with us, and as always, if you have any questions I am here to answer 🙂 Sign up for HelloFresh today and enjoy 9 free meals; which is $90 off your first month (purchase required to receive this offer).
XOXO,
Claire
